Railton Foundation Swellendam, with various stakeholders, invited 200 ladies to the Women’s Day event in Swellendam with the theme “Colour my Life”.

The celebration was all about connecting, socialising, having fun, shedding a tear, holding hands, building bridges and a general sense of togetherness.

It was absolutely fabulous to experience the work of Diana Ferrus, well known performance poet, who told the story of Saartjie Baartman. Speakers such as Bev Missing, Igsaan Adams of the IEC, AO Marlene Hartzenberg of SAPS, MPL Carol Beerwinkel, Peter le Roux and Basil May, made such valuable contributions to the program. Our local artists, Petruscka Libazi, Farryn Plaatjies, Greg Brown and Sheree Heyberg rendered beautiful items and really wowed the guests.

We want to convey our gratitude to each and every one including all the stakeholders (Railton Foundation, Badisa, ACVV, IEC, Cape Trade Route, Carol Beerwinkel, Morne’s Catering Services, Graham and Dave of Function 31) for contributing to the success of the event. And last but not least, thanks to the hardworking and dedicated team who worked tirelessly to organize everything. Well done!!!

The wonderful women, from different walks of life, really brought the vibrancy and colour to this event, and we want to thank them for the gifts that they gave that will make a difference in someone’s life.
