JUNE HOLIDAY PROGRAM: 18 – 27 JUNE 2019
Railton Foundation Swellendam, in collaboration with various role players, hosted a holiday program from 18 to 27 June 2019 at various venues in Railton.
We had different themes for the program such as indigenous games, arts and culture, gardening, the importance of reading, various child protection and safety aspects, self-defense, animal protection, career expo and nature conservation. Children were also made aware of their rights, but their responsibilities pertaining to their rights as well.
An average of 150 children from the Railton community participated daily in the program. The stakeholders aim to keep children constructively engaged in a safe environment while simultaneously learning new skills with the activities of the holiday program. Participants also received a cooked meal every day.
The staff and Board of Railton Foundation Swellendam wish to thank the management and staff of the following stakeholders who helped in several ways to ensure the success of the 8 day program:
