Railton Foundation Swellendam hosted the 2nd Table of Joy Christmas Lunch at the VGK Church Hall in Railton for 200 children on the 7th of December 2018.

The kids were selected and invited by different organizations such as ACVV, Badisa, Social Development, soup kitchen coordinators, Railton Foundation project participants and etcetera.

The function was officially opened by Reverend Gawie Gouws of the Dutch Reformed Church, followed by individuals who shared the story of the Birth of the Christ Child, lovely singing of Christmas Carols and followed with fun and games facilitated by Mark Conrad.

It was so heart-warming  and touching to see people from different walks of life who joined us to make the day extra special for the kids by spontaneously doing something on the program, helped to prepare the hall, be waitrons, preparing and dishing food and just pitching in to assist wherever it was needed. We can only say a BIG THANK YOU with grateful hearts.

We would not have been able to host this lunch if it was not for the open hearts and hands of a number of individuals, staff members of local businesses, the VGK Church and Dutch Reformed Church, Thomas van der Ven, Old Mutual, all the stakeholders and everyone else who made a financial or in kind contribution towards this function. The Board and Staff of the Foundation as well as the very happy kids want to convey a special THANK YOU to everyone.

The delicious lunch, sweet treats, bags full of presents and books that the kids received and the great program shared with them, truly conveyed the message of sharing and caring, Joy to the World and Peace to all mankind.
