Railton Foundation Swellendam hosted a mini 5-a-side soccer tournament on Saturday, 2 March 2019 at the Bontebok Primary School sports ground.

8 teams from Railton participated and the age of the players was between 8 to 23 years. The excitement of the players was evident in the enthusiasm with which they performed. The younger players were not scared to play against the older boys, and all players have shown great sportsmanship. The coaches and referees ensured that fair play prevailed.

The final game was played between Manchester St German and Mighty Lions and the score was 2-1 in the favour of Manchester St German.

Aviwe Ganyathi and Rudi Pietersen, our sport facilitators, are confident that we can prepare a good team to participate in the Homeless Word Cup trials at Oasis Linking Lives in Philippi on the 24th of March 2019.

We want to thank all the participants, the management of Bontebok Primary School and our volunteers for their support and assistance to ensure the success of the tournament.
